Dexterity is one of the main beneficial stats of the player. Mainly used for defensive purposes, it improves your chance to dodge monsters' attacks and avoid traps that you activate. It also contributes to how likely you are to trip over. Without bonuses, dexterity starts at 7 (female players start with 1 additional dexterity).
Phrase Meanings
The phrase in the status bar corresponds to the following values:
- Stiff: 1 to 4
- Sluggish: 5 to 9
- Limber: 10 to 14
- Flexible: 15 to 19
- Acrobat: 20 to 24
- Superhuman: 25 to 29
- Samus Aran: 30
Influences
This is the main important stuff that you need dexterity to perform well at.
- Avoiding or reducing the effect of monsters' attacks.
- Most monsters will make rolls against your dexterity when trying to damage you, trip you over, and so on. A high dexterity gives you a better chance of taking reduced damage and staying on your feet.
- Dodging triggered traps such as the make up pad trap and magic dust trap.
- The trap rolls against your dexterity with a random number (for example between 8 and 20) to hit you.
- Escaping traps, for example pulling out ass hook traps.
- For example, with ass hook traps, the minimum chance of success is 33%, but if you have less than 6 dexterity it is impossible.
- Leaving a room with unfriendly monsters in it (when standing).
- In most cases, a random number from the dexterity of the player to double the difficulty of the monster must be higher than the difficulty of the monster.
- Preventing drinks from spilling when you fall over.
- Whenever you go from standing to kneeling with an open topped container in your hand (and you didn't kneel on purpose), you roll with your dexterity in order to not spill the drink.
- Avoiding tripping over your own hair.
- If you have extremely long hair, you can trip over it every turn if you roll poorly on dexterity.
- Avoiding triggering a sticky mud trap in the woods / slippery floor in the hotel.
- When walking over some sticky mud, you must succeed a dexterity roll to avoid tripping over and triggering the trap.
- Avoiding triggering a pressure plate trap in the dungeon when crawling.
- When crawling over a pressure plate trap, a successful dexterity roll prevents it triggering.
