Intelligence is one of the minor beneficial stats of the player. It is frequently checked when deciding on the outcome of an event, to see if unlucky bad stuff happens, or extra-lucky good stuff happens.

How Luck Calculations Work

Sometimes the game will make a 'good luck roll' - a chance that something extra-good happens. This has, in normal circumstances, a 25% chance of success. Similarly, the game will sometimes make a 'bad luck roll' - a chance that something extra-bad happens. Again, this normally has a 25% chance of happening.

Whenever you roll good luck, if you get lucky, your luck goes down by 3%, and whenever you don't get lucky, it goes up by 1%. Similarly, whenever you roll bad luck, if you get unlucky, your luck goes up by 3%, and whenever you don't get unlucky, it goes down by 1%.

When your luck is not at 0, this affects the % chance of good or bad stuff. So for example, if you have 4 luck, then you have a 29% of success on a good luck roll, and a 21% chance of bad stuff on a bad luck roll. Luck can also be negative, and this has the opposite effect.

Permanent Luck

There are also permanent luck adjustments that work very slightly differently. Imagine you have a permanent +5% to luck from 5 academy trophies. The game makes a good luck roll. It rolls a d100. Usually it should be that 1-25 gives you the lucky outcome, but because of your trophies, it's actually 1-30. You roll a 85, so you don't get the lucky outcome. You get a +1 to luck, so next time it'll be 1-31 gets you lucky.

But here's the bit that stops the permanent luck being identical to a one-off luck boost: When the game checks whether to penalise your luck, it checks the exact value of the roll. So say you roll a 28. You get lucky! However your luck stat is actually at 26, not 31. So you don't get the -3% luck penalty. If you had rolled a 22, or 25, or 26, you would have got the -3% luck. But since it was the bonus permanent luck that granted you the lucky roll, you are not penalised.

In this way, your average total luck will tend back towards 30%, as the game makes several luck rolls over time. Whereas if it had been a one-off +5 boost to luck, it would be tending back towards 25% over time instead.

Luck Examples

There are countless things in the game that make luck rolls, but usually they are not regular checks, because we don't want luck rapidly returning to the average from benign luck rolls happening all the time.

Here are some examples of the sorts of things that happen when good luck rolls are made:

  • Successfully holding onto a mouthful of liquid without spitting any out, or an anal creampie without squirting any out, when experiencing a sudden shock or orgasm
  • Finding a gold bracelent when climbing up on the dungeon stage
  • Drinking a non-blessed potion of sanity and getting extra addiction reduction effects
  • Blinding an enemy when attacking them with a tanto
  • Getting a 'lucky hand' in the poker game with the orc, which makes getting a flush very likely
  • Learning a new magic spell when touching the back of the mansion statue
  • Getting a diamond ring when touching the butt of the mansion statue
  • Getting a dignity and intelligence boost when climbing the statue ladder in the woods
  • Getting a huge addiction reduction when the mad nurse jabs you in her elevator room
  • Getting a critical hit when kicking an enemy with high heels

Here are some examples of the sorts of things that cause bad luck rolls to be made:

  • Stepping on a pressure pad trap in the dungeon that you've already encountered before
  • Having a chastity device appear on you after masturbating, when you've already masturbated recently
  • Having an NPC decide to look an item of bondage on you after defeating you
  • Finding out that the condom pack on the poker table was cursed (requires worn condom fetish)
  • Fumbling and dropping a key when trying to unlock a locked item of clothing
  • Getting a negative outcome when you eat a piece of candy
  • Getting a limb stuck inside the silicone golem after attacking it
  • Getting the bad outcome when you try to rip a slimeball off your skin
  • An NPC's condom failing when they creampie you
  • Getting the bad outcome when you try and pull the shiny object out of the slimy portal in the mansion
  • Getting the bad outcome when you touch the ropes of the second mansion statue.
  • The academy warp portal glitching and sending you to a new region (if you're high enough rank)
  • The surgery machine in the elevator room being a trap
